Can Europe take care of itself by itself? IF YOU ARE FROM EUROPE PLEASE REMOVE YOUR NATIONALISM AND REALLY ASSESS WEATHER EUROPE CAN REALLY STAND ON ITS OWN IN GENERAL? It's not just about your nation but Europe as a whole.

Your talking spanning a decade plus. Right now they are not losing anything. Because they where never getting oil/gas from the pipeline anyways. CANNOT LOSE what you do not have. So nothing changed from yesterday, last month, or previous years over the cancelation on pipeline not even in use.

Yea needs grow that spans over a long period of time. Right now nothing is going to change in respect to supply. But by that time I am sure America will have taken back EU energy market in a decade.
Honestly European nations need to get their shit together and stop depending on other people including the US & Especially Russia. Start making your own energy! Start building your own militaries actually capable of defending yourself instead of relying on US or other nations.

Or is it Europe just can't make it on it's own period? Personally always viewed Europe as Americas weakest link. Always holding their hands. Then Europe turns around and complains about us helping them just to survive and maintain security which they cannot do themselves.

Because gas consumption for EU is growing and will keep growing at least until 2030. And Nord Stream - 1 is working a little above its full capacity. The issue is Russia has no additional means of boosting the delivery of the gas to Germany (one of the biggest gas consumers) except the other pipeline going through Poland, also working at almost full capacity and another one going through Ukraine, which Russia doesn't want to use for many reasons. In this scenario, Germany will have to buy additional gas from other sources, mostly LPG, with US being a significant exporter of it. LPG price is higher, mostly due to logistics and also because there are not many free sources of LPG that are currently on the market. This will boost the price. In a way the price will benefit to Russia as well (although selling more to Europe would be more beneficial). The biggest looser in this situation is EU up until they switch to green energy. High gas prices will force this, making wind and sun more interesting for consumers. 2000$ prices will make green power recoup investments in just 5 - 7 years, changing the market entirely.
I have to agree with you on your observation here. It will hurt for a little bit but Green & US newly revised want/need to supply EU market will make up for it.

One of the U.S. bigger oil refineries blew up this morning in Louisiana...on the same morning Germany announced halting Nord 2. Coincidence? https://www.manufacturing.net/energy/news/22068794/explosion-rocks-huge-louisiana-refinery .
If you are suggesting US blew up it's own shit on it's own soil please stop posting nonsense conspiracy theories. These forums are for serious manners.

If US wanted to stop its oil production why blow it up? Just say it was hacked and shutdown instead of destroying pricy infrastructures? Come one get some common sense.

Precisely. But green economy has its own problems. Even solar power. That's why Europe is unable to rely just on green energy. It will help Europe to reduce gas consumption, but not eliminate it. The only possible "final" solution is thermonuclear energy (or nuclear energy, but Europe does not increase the amount of nuclear plants for political reasons). And it will take another 20-30 years at least.

Tell me, what's the benefit to being America's friend and ally here lately? We cut, run, and leave our own people and friends behind to fend for themselves.

I just wonder if the rest of the world would be better off playing nicie-nice with Russia and China. The other countries can kiss Russia and China's behind so that they have a smooth transition to be absorbed, and possibly being seen as friendly, all the while being taken over so as not to have their infrastructure and business being blown to bits.

I don't see being Allies and friends with the United States of America has any benefits at all any more. America is fast losing its Super Power status.

Do you mean like they are going to cut EU from the rest of the world in this exact moment? No, I don't think it could. I think it would take the EU between 5 and 10 years to become fully indipendent from other countries, and during that period of time it will still need external markets to go on with its plan.

No just in general. General question not to get to specific of time period let's try and make this a very simple question.

Just simply do you think Europe could ever stand on it's own regarding basically everything from military or economics even if they really tried.

I just updated the specifics to the question I guess but makes it more vague which is the point.

NOTE I made poll so you can change your vote whenever you choose & poll never ends. Poll is also anonymous.

OK. Some European countries. Germany is one of them.

A Qatari energy official warned on Tuesday that neither his country nor any other country has the capacity to replace Russia's gas supplies to Europe with liquefied natural gas (LNG) if those exports are halted in because of Russia's actions against Ukraine.

Europe exists since thousands of years but it no longer has its own resources from which to draw.
Europe will always depend on imports from other nations or it has to take them by force.
Great answer and the same goes for every a country on the planet. Yes realistically including AMERICA. Not the thousands of years part , but realistically no individual western country has the military power or resources to be independent or safe in crisis of this nature. The western days of power and influence globally has come to an end . Now in saying that China has economic power leading the world , and the largest military force including naval. But thankfully at this stage they still rely on resources from others aswell. Far gone are the beliefs of most on such issues. But changes won't stop because we don't agree, like or accept. World rule and dominance once again will, is or should I say has changed. Only the stubborn will put us all at risk. Please consider.

😂 you keep living in that crappy fiction book you call your reality. If you add up every military on planet don't even compare slightly to the west in any aspect. Where not even talking military budgets yet. 🤣🤣
Don't worry i expect a few more like you. You can cut that budget in half considering you leave all your toys behind after conflicts you rarely finish. 🤣🤣🤣 People like you suffer the most.🙄👍

The US has almost 500 stealth aircraft. Not even talking conventional aircraft which we still out number everyone. Russia has last time I checked 12 & China has like 4? So no not even close Ying Yang.

History repeats darknoon. Empires globally rise and fall.
Don't believe me? Read up.
Yes the west had a good run longer than most. This only happened because of larger global unity. Like it or not. Not because of an individual country like some want to believe. 😞😒🙄🤣🤣🤣
