Pres. Biden never once mentioned Pres. Zelensky. Thoughts?
I don't know, he did mention the Ukrainian people a lot and directly said "This man cannot remain in power" about Putin (which while very strong, I do worry how they'll respond to that. I reckon ties are gonna be cut soon.)
But it's curious that he didn't mention him at all.
I’d like to believe it was a gaff, or an emotional thing. We all know what he’s like.
But I doubt the Kremlin will see it this way.

In my country, we call this stealing the fight, that is, we get involved in the fight by encouraging the opponent to make the first aggressive move against us to justify our response, and diverting attention from the other opponent.
We normally do that when a neighborhood bully assaults the little ones.

the idea of regime change being the approach contradicts much of the rest of the speech, but this will drive the kremlin wild. hope diplomatic ties dont get severed over this slip.

yeah, expected that to be a gaffe.
The thing with Biden is that he's emotional, I feel like he lets his own thoughts slip in.
I'm gonna be watching the Kremlin closely for their response to this because while the speech was very powerful, it's not exactly filled me with confidence

I think not mentioning Zelensky
I think we got a hint, a tell sort of speak, of some backdoor, behind the backdoor, which is being behind still another backdoor, of negations . At the root of which, any future Ukraine is not going to include Zelensky.

I wouldn't read that far into it. The speech was about Poland and their struggles with the refugee crisis while also rallying the West for the long haul on sanctioning Russia. While perhaps there is something in not mentioning Zelenskyy, going so far as to say they could support ousting him is a bit much for me.

If Putin suspects that there is any risk of a coup d'état, he will be paranoid about this declaration by Biden.
Biden may have said too much. Many people thought it was an exaggeration when he said that Putin would invade Ukraine. He has access to intelligence reports, he knows what Putin might be up to. He also called Putin a butcher...
Another detail, Biden did not speak offhand. He was reading on a screen. In other words, he said that Putin should not stay in power and that text was approved by him and the presidential team.
The White House was asked what he meant can't stay in power. An excuse came, which wasn't quite what he said, it's another power. In fact Biden has sent a message, either to Putin or perhaps someone in Russia who may be up to something and wonders if he would have Western support.

Ousting him isn't exactly what I meant. . If the ultimate end is a "negotiated" peace in which Zelensky "voluntarily" steps aside it wold be a win win for him. First and foremost he gets to live. Almost as importantly he forever becomes the national hero who single handedly led his people in standing up to the Russian tyranny , and gave up his presidency for the sake of peace. Not to mention retiring rather comfortably somewhere where it's always warm. I hear he has a very nice place in Miami.
Mmmm I don't think so. Though Reagan did say a lot of wild things back in the day. If any president said anything similar to what Biden said today it would of been Reagan or possibly Nixon could have too another wild president.
