Newsweek (eyeroll) - from "senior official at the Department of Defense"

Recognize the reports, but question the Newsweek source, and UK intelligence, Pentagon, etc., are really not credible sources. That is the only note on the report. I am confident this is a real issue. We just need journalists to report it.

Their information is coming from Ukraine sources. Hardly dependable.

That said, however, low morale among Russian soldiers isn't surprising, given all that has happened.

News reports are always difficult to determine their accuracy. Especially the unnamed sources.
Coupled with the general poor success Russia has had vs what their paper capabilities said they should have had.
The scores of abandoned armor we’ve seen over the last two months.
I tend to believe them that moral and readiness in the Russian military is lacking.
I do not and cannot know how negatively it will effect the Russian efforts over time in Ukraine.
I’m optimistic and would not be surprised in the next few weeks we begin to see even more desertions and issues with their military. But that is not a prediction just my response to these reports and future possibilities.

They are daring Russia to hit it and give the US/NATO an excuse to get more involved. This is a very dangerous game we are playing with the Russians.
USA did not have its Embassy in Israel in Jerusalem until 2018. It was in Tel Aviv from 1966 until 2018. In general, USA has been more willing to engage in foreign war in this 21st century and be in the line of conflict. In the meantime, the USA has had 40 million in poverty, the past 2 years had 1 million die from COVID-19, while U.S. national debt is over $30,000,000,000,000. American people really can't afford dangerous games. An accountant or a CFO for POTUS would not be the worst thing for USA for a few years of careful, thoughtful leadership.

US Economy is stronger under a war economy than peacetime economy.

Sigh blame blame blame, “I was in the pit, I saw for pentagon burn.
Your solution is us to come home so Russia can re-occupy Eastern Europe.
Tired old story

That's how you want to interpret calls for a cease-fire.
I am anti-Russian and pro-Human Rights.
But most of all, I am pro-Life.

But most of all, I am pro-Life.
Then how or what do you propose?
Where does it start,
Should Russia leave Ukraine, must nato stop providing support to Ukraine. Should Ukraine just accept the current front lines.

How about this Russia gets what they currently have and nato steps in and establishes a no fly zone over free Ukraine and moves nato troops to the front supplement the Ukrainian army.
The fighting has stopped Russia gets some dirt and nato is closer to moscow.
