I believe, that they will not. Why would they? It is evident, that U.S. is working on escalating this conflict.
Could U.S. prevent Ukraine conflict and stop Russia? Absolutely, this war is strictly artificial bullshit.

The Asian zone of miraculous economic development and technological progress is on it's way to become the battlezone. Because it is becoming more dangerous for U.S. every passing year. These societes will be much harder to control by the U.S. deep state in future. America already plundered the whole belt of Arabian civilisations, and stripped them of hope building a bright future for themselves. This one is but another obstacle. U.S. has nothing to win there, they only need to escalate and keep themselves unscathed. Gladly, Asian region is full of people who hate each other. You're saying "we can just leave China alone". No, you cannot. This would mean self-isolation. Installing more production takes time which is extremely precious for our era. With the help of Russia, the United States made a mess in Europe pretty bad. U.S. is short on allies because it keeps on betraying them - i believe that thinking only of themselves will become the keystone of the American downfall in the future. China will keep growing, and with it - countries that make deals with them. They will start sending rockets to the Moon, improve electronics further, build resource hubs and logistical routes. U.S. politics cannot let that happen.
Whatever is going on in Russia is already a minor thing. Nothing more but a rehearsal for what will happen in Asia. Every humanity's historical turning point has been followed with breakthrough in military thought and tech, people just need to figure out what to do with it. No one expected, that electronics and drones would be so widespread for low-budget forces that soon.
Experienced, inventive and battle-hardened Russians and Ukrainians - cannot ask a more better testers for new weapon systems, because there are no one else more fitting. U.S. that wasted a lot of time on useless weaponry and COIN warfare and China that has zero actual experience in combat, are looking closely, writing notes of this war. This is why Pentagon insists on Ukraine's offensive barging into Russian hardened defences - throw them to a slaughter only to test weapon systems, capabilities of new uses of drones and Western equipment. After that, Russia would hit exhausted Ukraine, take some more bits of land, solidify the border and freeze the conflict. There will be no another good chance.
Ukraine's action is coming to an end. It seems that it was stupid and pointless, but only at first glance - you will see the fruits of this insanity far away from here, 5 years later or so...
