May/2025 | India-Pakistan | Escalating Crisis DEFCON 3 | Discussions

Oh I’m weighing how much they hate each other but at the current moment there’s no risk of India marching to Islamabad and overthrowing the government or vice versa. This is still a border skirmish albeit a very large one.
Is it really a border skirmish when it extends 100+ kilometers past the border with air raids/missile attacks? Border skirmish would imply that its, well, only along the border.

This is not a border skirmish with airbases and targets hundreds of kilometers inside each others territory being attacked.

Not sure if I should post this in Discussions or reports, but I'm taking a look at the NOAA FIRMS fire data. This is all the detections from 0-12 Hours ago.

Allow me to rephrase still a low level conflict compared to an all out invasion.

Lobbing SRBM’s deep into Indian and Pakistani territory is a lot more conflict than we have seen in recent memory. If they both didn’t have nukes and the Indian media wasn’t literally salivating at the thought of nuking Pakistan, I’d be less concerned.

I wouldn't call this a low level conflict.

These 2 nations are entering a state of total war.
It’s a low level conflict when there is no ground invasion. This is a trading of strikes back and forth not one side looking to take over the other. That’s not to say it’s not a serious situation because it is but rather to reflect the fact that there’s still a lot more room for this to escalate or de-escalate before it hits a point of no return.

Key word in recent memory. It’s a serious situation for sure but there’s a lot of room between the situation we’re in now and nukes being launched. I’m not extremely familiar with the state propaganda in India tbh so I don’t know how much is hyperbole to make citizens happy and how much is actually serious.

Emergency Action Plans for DEFCON levels:

If you're unsure what DEFCON 3 actually means or what actions you should be taking, check the links I posted above. They break it down clearly, no hype, no fear peddling. ⬆️
Remember... DEFCON Warning System does not change the DEFCON levels unless there’s credible, sustained reason to do so. This isn't clickbait, it’s not for drama, and it’s not for views. It reflects real world escalation, but it’s still a watch posture, not a panic trigger.

Prepare now while you still can.

Stay calm, stay informed, and rely on facts, not fear. Goodnight everyone and be safe.

Not necessarily. Nukes can go flying without there ever being a ground invasion. A country can collapse without ground invasion. Especially if a country is being punished and not necessarily having a land grab.

India is absolutely trying to destroy Pakistan.

Quick report, though not super super relevant I wanted to share it.

A friend of a friend who's parents are from Pakistan reports he's hearing explosions over the phone when talking and that things are really bad. I do not have solid connections with this foaf for much further information but I will see if I can get in touch with him.

As this situation progresses, I hope the spiritual/faithful among us pray for the innocent civilians on both sides in the conflict zone that are caught up in this nightmare. I know I will.
For those not as spiritual, I am sure collective positive thoughts are welcome to the universe.

I would highly recommend that you look under emergency prepardness of several posts I made a few years ago. Also get potassium iodide tablets. This is virgin territory for the younger generations. India has opened ALL the floodgates along those dams. This will create heavy flooding in Pak. Use common sense folks.

Might clock off this site for a bit now for my own mental health. It's a bit strange how as long as we're at 5 and 4 it's easy to distance things in my head from what could potentially affect me in some way in the future even if I have no way of doing anything to prevent it but when it's at 3 I chicken out and decide to not really be there until the situation has calmed down. Especially with reports being sometimes unconfirmed and events happening quickly that makes it hard to keep up and just want to make me forget about this interest and hobby of mine and watch a TV show something. Should definitely be more tips on how to improve anxiety for people that just visit this site from time to time or just in general when shit like this happens. I do feel like a wuss for doing it though, but eh. I can live with it.

Take it from a guy who shattered his own psyche from Ukraine invasion. Learn to read between the lines on posts and maybe learn about the history of all of it. Once you know the context it does makes it alittle easier to swallow. Understand that you cant control when the nukes will fall but can control how you can handle day to day life. Do those hobbies and watch something distracting. I remember my cope when I was scared of Russia throwing nukes was rewatching the simpsons for laughs and watching avatar the last airbender with the wife. THIS IS MY OWN HOT TAKE but internally I think we're still in 4 but hey to each their own. I don't know where you live but if it's on the other side of the globe when atleast when I does go off it's on the other side and not right on top of your head. Keep on trucking my good friend and do what you need to do for your mental, physical, emotional, spiritual etc etc. You aint a wuss and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. It's scary times but relearning the past makes the future not as scary in a weird way.

I recommend you keep the DWS Twitter checked or otherwise keep in touch if the alert level changes or something new beyond just the current state of war happens.

For me, I'm basically just at, the world has gone to hell, if nukes start flying its a bingo. The chances of a nuclear attack in the US or radiation hitting me is very low even if India and Pakistan start launching nukes. I know the effects. But I just have to live my life like nothing's changed regardless of if a nuclear war happens overseas or the economy crashes, I still gotta go to work when I wake up. (And I really encourage people to continue to go to work in a catastrophe, as we will need workers to recover)

I prefer to think about the doom of the world than my government considering suspending habeaus corpus, or even worse, my personal issues. So I'll stay here and watch the world for nuclear war in India/Pakistan and act like it's my biggest issue.
