NEW: The Trump admin has identified targets in Venezuela that include military facilities used to smuggle drugs, U.S. officials say. If Trump decides to move forward w/ airstrikes, they say, the targets would send a clear message to Maduro that it is time to step down.

The Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) has been placed on high alert, with all soldiers and Coast Guard officers ordered to report to their respective bases by this evening.

A memo circulated to members yesterday stated that the TTDF has been moved to State One Alert Level—the highest level of operational readiness.

According to the order, all soldiers are to report to their bases by 6 p.m., with a general muster scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says she is not aware of the reason why members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force have been placed on high alert, with soldiers and coast guard officers ordered to report to their bases this evening.

The Prime Minister however urged citizens to remain calm, stating that she had no information of any imminent strikes occurring within the region.

Speaking to members of the media today shortly after news broke that the TTDF had been moved to a State One Level alert, Persad-Bissessar said she had no information and would find out more.

Trump says not planning US strikes on Venezuela​

When asked by reporters on board Air Force One on Friday if media reports that he was considering strikes within Venezuela were true, Trump answered: “No.”

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered the same message as he responded to an article in the Miami Herald that said Washington’s forces were poised to hit Venezuela.

“Your ‘sources’ claiming to have ‘knowledge of the situation’ tricked you into writing a fake story,” Rubio said in a post on X.

Not that you could tell it from Columbia President Pietros recent visit to the states.
Trump is seen the most favorably by individuals in Columbia than any Latin American country.

I’m sure they have lots of top quality garbage to unload (as in it’s shiny, but doesn’t work)

This however is some serious badass pain. This is a dangerous piece of kit that works as advertised. 4th gen, Rotorcraft, drones and cruise missiles are all on the menu. Hate to see them free one up for Maduro.

Maduro did not say this. An anonymous source spoke to the Atlantic and suggested the US offer Maduro a similar arrangement to entice him to step down

Hasn’t there been similar whispers all over the place? People always predicting the demise of dictators and somehow never happens until everyone least expects it
