My question would be “What could prolong this conflict?” We heard this song before Desert Storm…we were done in 100 hours. I don’t see Iran as any different. What am I missing here?

100hrs was the ground war. And the fighting continued for ~3 more days.
The Air war lasted weeks. Almost a month. It started on 17Jan1991 Mostly ended on 28Feb91
The whole thing was 2 days short of 7 months, but most people served at least a year before they departed.
