I thought it was a truck or something outside that hit and bounced the curb or something. Apparently was a earthquake. As I didn't really feel it but heard my house crack and move. Ceiling and floors moved and made noises similar to when hurricane winds hit the house. Or sometimes, heavy trucks hitting the very tight turns and curbs here in the Tampa Bay area.

Anyways. Didn't feel it so much heard the bones of my house when it happened.

As far as I can tell no tsunami threat to Florida/Puerto Rico or any of the Caribbean Nations.

It was a 6.1 off the shallow coast of Cuba.

Only reporting it because I know we have other members here from the Tampa Bay Florida area or other parts of Florida would be curious to see if they also felt or heard it in their house or place of work. Though it's 8pm. So would assume most where home when it happened like me.

We were home and felt nothing, on the 14th floor so thought there might have been something. Hopefully not much damage in Cuba

It's a older home I am in, (was on first floor at the time of two). So. Feel much more than the more modern coded buildings people are use too here. But the old bones in this house definitely had something to say. Lol

Wasn't to noticeable. Like I said I mistaken it from a heavy truck going by that shook the house slightly.

If TV was on loud I probably wouldn't have noticed at all.

Not exactly a normal location

Yea. I was worried of a small tsunami hitting the West Coast of Florida (historically only a meter high at worse, yes Florida can get tsunamis they're nothing like Japan tho) given it happened in shallow waters pretty far off the coast. But luckily it never materialized/the fault didn't slip/thrust correctly.

Unless it was a underwater volcano blowing it's sea floor lid. Would explain the odd location.
