New thread for analysis of reports of situation continues to go the wrong direction. Nothing of imminent danger however. Should be clearly noted.

Is anyone following the developments between Russia and Britain? Looks pretty concerning, withdrawing the ambassador and all

Apart from the weekly report from this site, which was published today,
the members no longer support this conflict; they are aligning themselves with their traitorous government.

Forced military autonomy: Faced with American restrictions on long-range missiles, Great Britain has decided to go it alone by sharing its own classified technologies with Kyiv. British intelligence experts and diplomats, like former UN Secretary-General Lord Robertson, note with bitterness that "the United States is no longer a reliable ally" on the Russian issue.

Yes, worrying because of this:

Doubt about the American response: Some experts in Moscow believe that if Russia were to launch a targeted attack on Great Britain, the Trump administration would block a joint NATO military response. This doubt undermines the very credibility of Article 5, the cornerstone of Western deterrence.

Article also says...

The ambassador's departure was announced internally at the embassy during a party for Russia Day on June 11. No formal announcement or statement was made to the public.

Btw no, Russia is not going to bomb London, the embassy is not even closed.
UK made drones hitting deep in the russian soil? Storm Shadows licensing and intel released to allow Ukrainian self production?
Really changes zero at this point, russians knew that this would happen.
And everyone (gvts.) knew that russians knew.

Given what happened during the last 4 years, if you are worried about the happenings of the last few weeks (nothing at all from a practical, not even strategically relevant standpoint), I really suggest you to cut the time you dedicate to the whole topic.
It's an honest suggestion towards the protection of your menthal sanity, not a critic.

Media outlets are out of "fuel" for their fear/engagement factories lately.

Responding to @charmander’s comment in the locked thread regarding this situation not being as intense as that in late 2022: that’s my exact fear, is that Putin will do a mass mobilization again and we’ll be right down that same road as we were in fall of 2022.

You handled it perfectly. Thread/topic locked. Left redirect thread where to continue.

You did just that. Wish more where as astute as you with my non visible organizational invisible hand. ;)

I'm certain something's going on; both governments are lying. We'll find out in a few months... At some point, someone will speak out. So, stay tuned...

Putin could certainly attempt a mobilization, and it would quite possibly be the most dangerous political decision he’s ever made. What could also happen, and is the more likely in my opinion, is we see some form of covert mobilization occur in the outer regions of Russia. Nobody in the important regions of Russia would be affected and Putin would still achieve the same goal. After 2022 though, Putin knows the risk of an outright mobilization.

One source says the Kremlin framed these developments as “positive,” another says Trump downplayed rumors of Ratcliffe telling Russia off, so I have no clue what to believe. Gonna leave this here:

Theres also this saying he used it to discourage Moscow from aiding Iran.
Who the hell knows at this point, but it seems like a multi issue meeting that could’ve been a phone call.

“This could’ve been an email!”
There is more force behind it when you send someone high up to deliver the message.

But the US must be addled if they think Russia is going to reduce assistance to Iran if it keep the US busy and off Russia's back.

Unless the US offers a quid pro quo.

The whole situation is still odd to me, definitely seems like there was a combination of things that made the visit worthwhile for the U.S.. I also still agree with @NuclearID on his earlier point that there is zero indication either side is moving towards direct conflict, which makes me question whether ratcliffe was sent there on the Iranian mission primarily and to send a message the hybrid warfare needs to be toned town as a secondary reason. Primarily because I don’t believe the United States honestly cares enough about NATO at this point in time to justify the trip.

Russian foreign ministry spokesperson since 2015
Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova is a Russian diplomat who serves as the director of the information and press department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. She has been the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation since 2015
And this is different than what we’ve been hearing from the MFA throughout all this conflict how…..? Is this actually something to worry about?
