Poland Constitutional Crisis (30 October 26)

They just have too many presidents. Which would be more than one, but by my counter, there’s at least three.
In several countries around the world, politicians are divided, and so are their people:
They are unable to form a stable government.
Examples include:
Canada, the USA, Israel, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and others...
Democracies are in danger.

Well three things create this problem.
1 forgetting that a pure democracy is just a tyranny of the majority.
2 either poorly designed constitutional systems or abandonment of constitutional systems that foster a republic where consensus is encouraged and rights of minorities are protected
3 little to no attempt to properly assimilate new immigrants into the culture and legal systems.

Well 4, each and every time gov is enlarged and becomes involved with more and more direct benifits distribution the scramble and fight to control more of the pie just fosters division.

A good government should always only have the minimal amount of interaction and influence on society.

Neither side is doing very well in the US. I of course have a bias.

Riot police have been deployed at Poland's Constitutional Court amid an escalating stand-off between the government and the court's top judges.

The row pits the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk against his predecessors from the right-wing Law and Justice (PiS).

The police intervention came after Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek said he had requested stripping the court's President Bogdan Święczkowski and Vice-President Bartłomiej Sochański of their immunity from prosecution to bring criminal charges against them.

Tusk has vowed to depoliticise the judiciary, and on Friday defended the move as PiS supporters gathered outside the court premises in Warsaw in protest.

Don't though if this is the right place for this but something is going down in Poland. Sounds pretty serious seeing as Poland neighbours Russia and Ukraine.

Representative government is messy. A contact sport! When it is not, THAT'S when it becomes dangerous for the people.
Best I can tell and please someone correct me if I’m wrong on this. It was the conservative nationalist gov who started this drain circling leading up to 2015. And now it’s the European centric government that is using the same power play to reverse.
Given that the polish constitution was only 20 years old in 2014 we shouldn’t really be surprised by issues like this.
Constitutional governments are more akin to wood butchery than carpentry.
Sometimes it’s ugly and imperfect.

The USA, with existing and fully functioning State goverments. Completely failed twice.

For urgent consultations with the President of Poland Karol Nawrocki regarding the conflict surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal, representatives of only two parties from the ruling coalition — PSL and "Poland 2050" — arrived.Donald Tusk's "Civic Coalition" and "The Left" declined to participate. Among those present are Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Szymon Hołownia.
