A funny - not so funny question

Money is a common tool to exchange goods but also used to enslave society.
Paying taxes is your oath to complete the cycle the system demands to consolidates it's power for all time.
It's a vicious cycle. :devilish:
Money will lose its value over time so mankind should stop wasting its life time earning it.
There are much more meaningful things to do with life.

It all goes back to moonshiners and one of the few armed rebellions in US history.
The whiskey rebellion. I’ve never studied it extensively but basically the federals imposed a tax on stills and their product. It was to pay off the revolutionary war debt.
It came from Alexander Hamilton, which is funny, because before the war he made his money rum smuggling to avoid crown taxes.
Anyway what made it so contentious was it was from the federal gov and wasn’t just limited to whiskey that crossed state lines. It is argued because it included distilled products that didn’t cross state lines so it failed the commerce clause.
It was also burdensome because on the frontier barter was a major aspect of commerce. Hard to pay a tax in currency when most of your product was bartered for good and services.

It was over quick and some argue marked the beginning of the end.

The first legitimate way to express your displeasure with your gov, after speaking out and voting, is refusal to pay taxes.
You are withdrawing your material consent from the actions the gov has taken.

is refusal to pay taxes.
You know you can do that. You can fill out a forum to IRS and carry a card so you never pay taxes on anything.

But then you can't do anything. You lose it all, can't buy a house, can't rent a place, can't buy/rent a car, can't work, and most stores won't allow you to purchase anything. Also disqualifies you for social security & more.

But you do have a right not to pay taxes. It is a real legal option.

Also think once you file to not pay taxes your social security card is revoked too. But your still a citizen & keep your birth certificate.

I’ve watched farmers for decades try and exercise that option for farm purchases at retail. It’s rarely reasonable. They can buy a bag of feed with picture of a cow or pig on it and it’s tax exempt. Buy one with a horse on it and it’s not.

Yea it's crazy messed up, but the option does exist strangely.
