So I just heard the Taliban have outlawed forced marriages. Never thought I'd hear that. They really mean business when they say they want to be recognized as a legitimate sovereign nation.

Also woman are not consider property anymore. Nothing was mentioned about education though.

Still a rather big step for a terrorist organization to decree. They really want to be recognized badly. Why is Afghanistan thread moved to anything goes? Isn't this a geopolitical thing?

The Taliban is desperate for outside money. I suppose that’s a problem trying to run a midevil culture in the 21 century.
They have no ties to the world economy and no infrastructure. They import all of their electricity.
So their desperate to keep the power on and banking system from collapsing.
Same old story to pure in dogma to be bothered by any modern or international norms. Until the lights go out and all those imported goods stop flowing.
Then the rubber meets the road.
