Moscow has promised to provide the “necessary assistance” to Armenia if ongoing fighting in the Azerbaijani breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh region reaches the country’s territory, after Yerevan called on the Kremlin for help.
Russia has signaled it is ready to get more involved in the conflict between Azerbaijan and the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh republic, backed by Armenia. The “assistance” will come only if the fighting reaches the territory of Armenia, which has security agreements with Russia, however.
“Russia will render Yerevan all necessary assistance if fighting takes place directly on the territory of Armenia,” Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Saturday, urging the warring parties to cease hostilities immediately.
The ministry’s statement came after Armenia’s PM, Nikol Pashinyan called upon Russia’s President Vladimir Putin to begin “urgent” negotiations on possible security assistance. Earlier on Saturday, the Armenian leader sent a letter to Putin, stressing that the fighting was about to reach his country’s borders and bemoaning Turkey’s backing of Baku’s troops.

Turkey will only use this to make the situation worse where the main area of contention is. Turkey won't attack Armenia directly knowing Russia will then hit them back in a big way. Erdogan wants his Caliphate and Putin is looking for an excuse to bring Turkish land back under the rule of the Eastern Orthodox Church again. Constantinople not Islamabad. Nazism is hated around the world and even illegal in many countries yet Islam is allowed to take root in many western nations. Ask yourself why. Islam is so far removed from a religion of peace it's not funny.

Islam is a straight fascist ideology, not a religion in my opinion. The western Strategists do not see the long term dangers of the Muslim Migration (or won't see it). Islam is just eternal War.

The hard part is, that it's a bit of both. It's a religion that demands merging of church and state, and strict enforcement of religious laws by government force. Part of what has made it difficult for western nations to counter it compared to the likes of Nazism is that we can't quite get it in our heads that these people see their religion and political authority as one. So the west keeps trying to seperate "moderate Muslims" from the "radical Muslims", but that is much like trying to separate "moderate Nazis" from "radical Nazis" or "moderate Communists" from "radical Communists". The only difference is the willingness to personally engage in violence to foward their political goals, which in of itself can change if an oppertunity to get away with violence presents itself.

All religions are theological, ideological, and political in nature. And it's been this way for thousands of years.

Try to explain that stuff to a German Official or to the Left Wing Societies there. You will be framed as a Nazi in Seconds and in the worst case scenario you will have a problem with the Verfassungsschutz (German NSA). And no, I'm not joking.

That may depend on the election in US. But I hope, there is a plan.

More or less, yes. But the religious leaders in most parts of Middle Europe have only a few possibilities to create influence in the actual politics. That was the lesson learned from the past religious Wars, that takes place and they arrange with that. The Islam is trying to revert this and to make its own rules under the Sharia Law. This is one of the problems we have.

But that's enough for European Problems in the Armenia Thread. Sorry for the many OT :)

Azerbaijani troops made an attempt to advance in the Sisian and Vardenis border areas (the Syunik and Gegargunik regions) in addition to the Sev Lich border section, Armenia’s Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.

"On May 13, the Azerbaijani armed forces staged another provocation against the sovereign territory of Armenia, citing the ‘border adjustment’ again, attempting to advance their positions in the border areas of Vardenis and Sisian. In both cases, the advance was halted by the Armenian armed forces and a demand was issued to the Azerbaijani side to immediately leave the territory and return to the initial positions," the statement says.

The Armenian Defense Ministry qualifies these actions "as an outright provocation," the statement says.
