something really serious could be going on in russia yet the new iphone release is considered "breaking news" dunno whether to laugh cry or just scream!

Or...have something useful related to DWS maybe?

But it is related to DWS. And humour.
Take the number of members monitoring the situation. Express as a percentage of the population.
plus or minus five percent, that'll be the percentage of the population who's descendants will form the next civilization after the dust settles!
Sort of fast-forward Darwinian selection  Cleans out the filter in the gene pool!

the point was, while we can find out information the mainstream media seems ignorant to whats going on, and would rather talk about pointless things than important news.

You can get more people to line up for a week to buy a 'smartphone' (read:pocket big brother) right from Daddy G, than you can get to vote (if that makes a difference any more).
More people know about every move some lard-butt D list reality TV 'celebrity' makes than know what their own state is doing.
More people could tell you what hockey head, footballer, or soon to be incarcerated basketballer thinks about this or that than could even find 'Lithuania' on a map.
A semi literate NBAer with a fifth grade (failed) education expresses an opinion on anything (economics, foreign policy, defence policy ect), it is the word of god and carries more weight in the halls of power than informed reason or empirical observation.
How does being married to a political hack qualify one to world leadership?
How does squeeking by a modern US liberal arts college program, and a life time of self serving, flaky, half cocked, un-informed opinions and one of the worst senatorial records (attendance, missing crucial votes...) land an oblamo in the white house. For two terms no less.
Why is the son of the worst PM in canadian history, a montreal-centrist millionaire lawyer who has never served, or worked for a living, all ready anointed prime minister before the writ is even dropped...

Now that's comedy!

I didnt pay attention, i didnt see this was in humor, sorry Simon.
