Please use this thread to share browser resources that are useful for OSINT research.
One of the things I am changing for 2026 is I will be dedicating a single browser to OSINT functions. I've selected WaterFox, which is a Firefox privacy browser fork, but there are many others out there.
Additionally, I have installed some browser extensions for testing that might help detect fake news and disinformation on websites, listed in alphabetical order:
Deepfake Detector - AI powered tool to detect AI-generated images
Exif Viewer - Displays EXIF and IPTC metadata in photos, potentially revealing misleading information
Fake News Detector - Fact checks claims on websites by highlighting, right-clicking, and clicking "Fact-check this text"
Fake News Trap - Unlike the extension above, this extension will automatically highlight potential fake news content on any website
PhotOSINT - Scans websites for EXIF metadata and shows that data on a popup window. Also provides context menu for reverse image search options
Search by Image - Reverse image search that could reveal old photos being passed off as new photos
There were others that I did not install because they were not monitored for security threats.
I want to highlight that these were recommended but I have not officially tested yet. That's another reason I am using a separate browser for this. I will be posting updates on these extensions plus a list of a few other extensions I use for privacy and security later. Although not directly OSINT-related, they are helpful in protecting you privacy and computer security while browsing.
