I mostly did this because I got tired of moving discussion content out of REPORT thread and this isn't as "active" of a topic either anymore. I know this subject in particular can get quite messy. Remember good rule of thumb... if your post has the words "you", "you are", "fascist", "communist", "socialist", "nazi", or any other useless loaded fighting words, just don't fucking post it guys. Don't get the thread locked again.

If me of all people can learn to not step into the gutter, than anyone can, no excuses!

See, this right here is my huge problem with Donald Trump. That remark was unnecessary, uncalled for, and not Presidential, in my opinion. I understand he has different political views than Biden, but in this forum, we would never allow that kind of behavior to stand. Why should we tolerate it from our leaders, people who are supposed to be leading us by example?

Forget politics. What has happened to just plain ol' human decency?

I was telling my sister the exact same thing this morning.

This is just my conspiracy but the world changed (attitudes, cognitively, and personality wise) for the worse when COVID hit and it has gotten worse ever since. This is my feeling and observation as I can see it in my neighbors and my family.

What does this post have to do with the memorial for Mr. Kirk? It wasn't even from it.
Here is the feed for Acyn. I scrolled down through it and did not find anything positive about President Trump or the Republican or Conservative parties. Just more Donald Trump and the right bad!

In a week or two the next big crisis is going to unfold, and nobody will have the mental capacity to remember who this Charlie Kirk fellow even was - just like nobody (save for a handful of historians) remembers Horst Wessel today.

For sure it may. I don't know what the future will bring - I'm merely trying to make (more or less) educated guesses.

It seems to me that we're all living in the here-and-now - perhaps more so than ever before. The "today thing" eclipses everything else that's going on, and it's absolutely, without the slightest doubt the Biggest Thing That Has Ever Happened. The "yesterday thing" doesn't matter; nobody cares about that anymore.

But, of course, if you wait 24 hours, the "today thing" will inevitably become the "yesterday thing"... 💁‍♂️

It was. I'm just very stingy with reactions (my personal threshold for dispensing a (y) is close to where most other people would react with a :love: - and I do believe I've only ever reacted with a :love: on a handful of occasions).

I'm a cold, calculating bastard. It's what we do. ;)
