The things humanity could accomplish if we weren’t constantly coming up with new ways to kill each other 🤦‍♂️.
Naw. It’s only the need to light another person on fire without getting close that leads to a portable flame thrower. Extrapolate ad nauseam.

"The weapon generates a white-hot fireball that lasts 15 times longer than TNT’s fleeting flash"
Article is cool but short on substance. Two critical items:
1) fireball radius
2) psi differential/wave speed

Anybody can do 1,800 degrees F°

2 seconds+ is impressive

In another article I read the explosive component was only like 4lb. The helium is stabilized in bubble matrix’s that breaks down on detonation.

It’s like a combination of white phosphorus and napalm.
Very little damage from psi/differential.

All that said I would think it could be delivered in a hard casement with O2 and it would make quite an explosion.

That or scale it up to a 200lb warhead and stand back.
It didn’t say what helium ion they used.
Helium three with an extra oxygen molecule would be exciting
