RT news the Russian CNN just released an odd news item on their Telegram channel, I can not find the report on their website. The article sounds more like a warning.

CYBER THREAT: Major media to heart monitors - millions of devices at risk!? (Report)

A new security frailty means cyber criminals could potentially hack MILLIONS of IoT devices (Internet of Things) – and the implications for consumers and major, critical infrastructure are ENORMOUS! (zdnet)

The vulnerabilities could leave over 100MN devices at risk from remote access. Which could see devices taken offline and networks infiltrated, according to researchers from Forescout.

Back in 2016, the largest ever cyber attack was launched using an IoT botnet. It lead to huge portions of the internet going down, including Twitter, Netflix, Reddit, and CNN.

Hackers could potentially target anything from nuclear power plants to healthcare -with patient records or indeed hospital equipment vulnerable... the weapon of choice in the future could be devastating.

This is old news being recycled. The cyberthreat to IoT devices has been public knowledge for a long time now.
