I have a question. Is the site planning on going to DEFCON 3 when kinetic action breaks out between Russia and Ukraine? I still find it unnerving that a recent board announcement was made regarding limiting guest posting during DEFCON 3. Was this a coincidence? Or is this something that's being planned?
War between Ukraine and Russia is in my opinion is not trigger for this action.
The war might lead to new sanctions against Russia. These sanctions might lead to Russia response. In a theory Russia response might lead to change level change ( or something very serious will happen during possible Ukraine-Russia war).
At this stage we have no information about Russia plans so it it is not clear what type of sanctions will be used. Full stop.
In my opinion we shall not discuss all possible scenarios.

The great difficulty a situation like this or any similarly escalating situation is that as even though the nuclear conflict isn’t directly indicated. The speed at which the situation can escalate increases. So it naturally increases everyone’s sense of urgency but it doesn’t necessarily reflect an accurate reality.
Public reporting and speculation makes this effect even more pronounced.
Personally I don't think we will have the privilege to see the web prior to war,... even me the rich guy with some connections. These forums should not be a tool or in your plan if things start to go really south aka SHTF.
These forums can be used for early warning. But for information durring a war nothing will be available to keep updated other than your local radio stations or your long range radio communications. Even then may not work after nuclear EMP's.
BUT as the dictator said.... a nuclear exchange can happen without total world war or nuclear commitment like Pak & India. In which the world is still fucked but at least we can watch our global society collapses in total demise without question.
