DEFCON Warning System

This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 2 P.M., Sunday, December 1st, 2019. Condition code is Green. DEFCON 5.

There are currently no imminent nuclear threats at this time.

United States is not currently developing hypersonic nuclear weapons although other countries like China and Russia are. The U.S. is also considering withdrawing from the Open Skies treaty, citing concerns that Russia has been violating the treaty and using its flights to gather intelligence on the U.S. and allies. There are concerns, however, that the loss of the treaty would allow Russia or the United States to develop and deploy missiles currently restricted under other treaties.

North Korea says it will no longer engage in talks with the United States unless the U.S. drops it’s “hostile policy.” In the meantime, the U.S. and South Korea have postponed military exercises to bolster the stalled peace talks. South Korea has signed a defense agreement with China as South Korea blisters under U.S. demands that it pays more of the costs for military protection from the United States.

Iran’s supreme leader continues to ban talks with the United States, and Iran is now operating double the number of centrifuges than was previously known, allowing Iran to increase production at a rate of 10 times. The International Atomic Energy Agency’s top inspector tells diplomats in a closed-door meeting in Vienna that Iran is evading attempts to discover the source of man-made & natural uranium particles detected at warehouse in Tehran.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran reports that Iran now has the capacity to enrich uranium to 60%. Still short of the 90% needed for weapons grade, but now considered only a short hop away. Iran has also begun construction on second nuclear power plant.

The Pentagon says that Iran has the largest missile arsenal in Middle East. Additionally, according to Iran, Iran, Russia, and China are ot hold joint war games in December.

The DEFCON Warning System is a private intelligence organization which has monitored and assessed nuclear threats by national entities since 1984. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack. If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
