This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 2 P.M., Tuesday, December 1st, 2020. Condition code is Green. DEFCON 5.

There are currently no imminent nuclear threats at this time.

China has extended range of its medium range hypersonic missiles and China’s coast guard has been authorized to use weapons on foreign vessels in China claimed territory, which includes South China Sea. Despite warnings from China, U.S. Marines have officially begun training in Taiwan for 1st time since 1979. China is not developing a long-range bomber which could strike the United States.

Iran says it will return to nuclear deal if the United States lifts sanctions. Meanwhile, the Iranian Parliament has passed a bill that would suspend U.N. inspections of its nuclear facilities and require the government to boost its uranium enrichment if Europe does not provide sanctions relief. Saudi Arabia, for its part, has said that it retains the right to arm itself with nuclear weapons if regional rival Iran cannot be stopped from making one.

The United States has announced its intention to create a new numbered fleet in the Indian Ocean, a move that will be considered interference by both Russia and China. The United States has formally withdrawn from the Open Skies treaty with Russia. Russia has tested a missile that can destroy U.S. satellites.

The DEFCON Warning System is a private intelligence organization which has monitored and assessed nuclear threats by national entities since 1984. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack. If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
