This is the DEFCON Warning System radiation report for 12:30 P.M. PST, Saturday, March 12, 2011.
Radiation activity has been reported for the town of Okuma in the Futaba District of Fukushima Prefecture in Japan, which is where the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant is located. Current outdoor radiation levels are reported as twenty times normal. An evacuation radius has been established and the remaining public in the vicinity is being urged to stay indoors.
Latest wind patterns show spreading radiation to the north of the reactor. Local agencies will have current wind patterns for your area.
At this time, the DEFCON Warning System does not forsee any of this radiation reaching the United States, however the nuclear plants are continuing to have cooling problems. We will continue to monitor the situation and report as necessary.
