This is the DEFCON Warning System radiation report for 7 P.M. PDT, Tuesday, March 15, 2011.

Explosions continue to rock the Fukushima nuclear plant and Japan has reported that radiation is being released directly into the air. According to the Institute for Science and International Security, the situation has considerably worsened. At least three of the four reactors are in a meltdown process.

According to reports from the ground, Tokyo Electric and the Japanese government are under-stating or withholding information, both regarding the situation at the nuclear plant as well as radiological readings. The DEFCON Warning System advises that any official radiological reports should be regarded as suspect without independent confirmation.

At this time, the DEFCON Warning System does not foresee any of this radiation reaching the United States, however the situation is worsening. We will continue to monitor the situation and report as necessary.

The DEFCON Warning System is a private enterprise which monitors world events and assesses nuclear threats against the United States by national entities. The DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. This system serves the Kettle Falls area of Northeast Washington. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
