There are currently no imminent nuclear threats against the United States at this time.
Iran is preparing to enrich uranium to 65%, speeding along the road to domestic production of weapons-grade enrichment while Unit 1 of the Bushehr nuclear power plant is now operating at 100% capacity. The United States plans to greatly reduce its military exercise with Israel in October.
Egyptian President Morsi purges military leadership to solidify his position against military opposition. Historically, the military has kept the government secular. This could lead to a further radicalisation of the country's leadership and bring the country more into conflict with Israel and the West. Leading toward that, Egypt is considering breaking its 1979 peace treaty with Israel, keeping tanks in the Sinai Peninsula on a permanent basis.
According to the online version of Pravda, Russian president Putin claims to have moved mobile strategic nuclear missiles to Cuba. There has been no further information on this potential development. The United States has denied reports that a Russian Akula class attack sub has run undetected in the Gulf of Mexico for over a month. It should be noted that Russia has announced a 3/4 of a billion dollar investment in new military aircraft.
The United States is considering tapping its Strategic Oil Reserve to prop up President Obama's re-election chances in the face of higher gas prices. Analysts continue to warn that the Strategic Reserve must not be depleted but rather saved for the time when the country faces threat and supplies are cut off.
India is beginning work on submarine-launched nuclear weapon capability, with expected deployment in a year while China establishes garrison in disputed area of South China Sea. The United States is to expand its missile shield to the Asian theatre which analysts believe could be read as a threat to China.
