Why would a E-4b be in European Airspace? Russian interference with our ability to communicate with our subs? Those E-4s can send the codes from the US heartland, can't they?

Honestly it could be several things
It could be because of a real security threat. I don’t see one currently. However it could have been because of an anticipated launch by Ukraine deep into Russia. Coupled with Russias threats of retaliation strikes.

It could simply be a demonstration of power and commitment with nato and Ukraine

Or a training mission with nato forces

Other than a possible escalation regarding missile strikes in Russia I don’t see anything eles
