Fearing a new conflict over Taiwan, Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg has released a shocking account showing how the Joint Chiefs pressed Eisenhower to launch a nuclear war on China.

They also wanted to invade Cuba and take out the Soviet Union right after WWII before they had a chance to recover.

This is basically the military's job. They're always "recommending" things like this, pushing to get rid of an adversary.

Hammer looking for a nail😏

It’s been argued also we should have used nukes when China crossed the boarder into Korea. It would have stopped them and quite possibly changed the course of Asia today.
But politically and diplomatically it would have been a hard decision to defend.

Its proven impossible not turn into an empire nation with nuclear weapons in the mix. As well as other nations having them as well.

War can start and end in a literal flash which leaves a nation concluding they must always be at a high state of readiness and ability across the board.

The CCP should have been stopped in China right after WW2.
Imagine the Taiwanese government running China for the last half decade.
Would have been a different world
They probably couldn't because China, like Russia, paid heavily during WW2. After that, the Koumintang was kicked out, took control of Taiwan, and established martial law for nearly four decades. Meanwhile, the U.S. engaged in peace ties with China because it realized that its warmongering strategies in Asia were failing. But the grand chessboard strategy continued, all the way to Obama's pivot, until Trump tried to replace it with peace talks with North Korea and trade deals with China. But that in turn would not last because the swamp always gets what it wants.

You forgot the tariffs Trump placed on China, how’s that for a trade policy?

China agreed to trade deals that Xi and other pro-reform politicos wanted in the first place. That's the main reason why China joined the WTO much earlier.
