Not enough info yet, and a Google search doesn't reveal more than Russian sources atm.

This is a tough one. Keep us updated, okay? Every so often (if you're able) do a search on the first paragraph through Google news, and if official sources pop up with the text, we may have a problem on our hands...

I am not finding where Ukraine ever said that nuclear weapons had been used by Russia.

I could be wrong, though, but so far I can't find it.

And at this time, we have absolutely NO reports of nuclear detonations in the area.

Is there are Ukrainian source we could look up to confirm these reports of tactical nukes being used or threatened. If true and I am not siding with Russia here but I think this is Ukrainian propaganda, Putin would have to be pretty desperate to use a tactical nuke in Ukraine no matter how much he would deny using it wouldn't fly even if one "fell" into rebel hands. Remember both countries are technically at war with each other with both sides throwing crap at each other, propaganda is a powerful tool in this conflict to both sides.

Correct. Sometimes destroying a people's will to fight is of greater importance than winning the fight itself.

There are no reports of nuclear weapons being used in the area.

For future reference. If nuclear weapons had been used, US media would’ve immediately reported it. This is because the type of tremor a nuclear detonation gives off can be registered across the world and the US and many other countries monitor this. Thats how we know NK has detonated one within seconds.

Interesting that we seem to be switching right back to DEFCON 5 in light of this rumor.

This isn't even a rumour. It's a reporter taking someone out of context and then Russia blowing it out of proportion to serve their propaganda needs.

As Ryan said above, if there had been a nuclear detonation, it would have been picked up. Plus, by now, the radiation would have been detected by monitoring stations. Remember, the Russians couldn't keep Chernobyl secret.

I want to be adamant about this because we don't want false information like this running around:
