Likely a move by Orban to further consolidate his power. I doubt there is any actual threat to Hungary, well, a military threat I mean. Hungary is backsliding into autocratic rule in my opinion, Orban has been known to get along well with Putin.
Fallout refers to political fallout, not actual fallout. There have been no radiological incidents in Ukraine.

I would tend to agree. 970 miles from Russia to Hungary is a considerable distance.
But the distance from Moldova to Hungary is just 417 miles. If Russia were to invade Moldova, would Hungary have time to react?
Once again, Moldova is also not part of NATO, whether it has "cooperated" with NATO in the past or not.
So looking from that perspective, maybe Orban's move in Hungary is not the authoritarian grab that it would appear to his critics in the West.

Another reason is that he wants to protect his power against an uprising (coup d'etat), I don't think he's afraid of the Russians.
He is against the EU gas embargo on Russia.
He will vote against the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO.
In conclusion, he protects himself against the West. That's my opinion.

He’s not afraid of Russia in the least. He’s one step away from Serbia in support of Russia.
Good grief. Do t get me wrong I liked Orbans actions regarding the Syrian migrants flooding north.
And he has walked a fairly diplomatic line during the war. But that’s it.
