The truth is always there and can be seen in measurable ways.
The trick as we see so often is what those measurements are and who’s defining them.

If a societies philosophy doesn’t hold water any better than their plumbing then their in deep shit on multiple levels.

The trick, as we see so often, is what those measurements are and who’s defining them.

One culture says conformity and society is preeminent. While another will hold that individual liberty is the preeminent goal.
We’ve entered an age where the real war is for the supremacy of these measurements across the world.
Any successful empires real success occurred after the battles were fought. How successful were they in integrating the conquered society.

If a societies philosophy doesn’t hold water any better than their plumbing then their in deep shit on multiple levels.

In which case, what are current "philosophies" of U.S.? Neoliberalism and neoconservatism?

Just to show the importance of narrative and context, of course.

Funny thing is what your saying I am preaching up and down here. Both sides are wrong. What is right is picking views from both sides choosing yourself INDIVIDUALLY on each issue in what YOU believe in and NOT BLINDLY following whatever libtard/socialist or redneck/trump loyalist online or family/friends with wild opinionated beliefs sparred from other fanatics....

To you.

How is this philosophy any different than the hard left or the hard right?

Saying "a person needs to pick issues and not blindly follow one side" is just as hardened as the others, because it invalidates the other person's opinion because it does not match yours. Maybe the other person fully agrees with the hard left? Or fully agrees with the hard right?

As long as we continue in this "my way is the right way" political philosophy, we are never going to get anywhere.

What we need to do is be able to say "I disagree on this point, but let's find a compromise".

Compromise is gone in this country.

Now, I am about to invalidate everything I just said.

Because there are issues where there can be no compromise.

Abortion to me is a non-starter. Abortion is murder and should be outlawed. How do I compromise with someone who believes baby murder is okay? I can't.

So now we have two camps who are unmovable in their position.

Sometimes there can be no compromise and you have to win over enough people to your side to form the majority. And the minority has to suck it until they can turn around and win enough people to their side.

So I guess that is the key to living together.

Learn to either compromise or, if compromise can't be had, learn to suck it until you can change things.

Let me be more specific. Both sides end up being wrong simply because most of their followers do not think for themselves and blindly believe anything their side tells them.

Now I am not talking about the issues in particular but rather people just taking the information given to them as almost God himself spoke it without even the slightest attempt to read about the issues for themselves which is tragically awful...

Now example you with abortion. It seems you have done your own research and came up with your views on your own and not just blindly listened to someone in your family or online.

Which is great! I love it when people can REALLY articulate why they believe in what they do and not believe simply because that is what their party, friends, or family believe.....

There is no right or wrong on our views weather left or right as it's all based on personal opinions. WHAT IS WRONG is siding with the left or right simply because a friend, family, or fear mongers say online without your own personal research judgements on an issue.

Somehow most Americans Forgot how to think for themselves.....

Neoliberalism is an ideology that supports free market capitalism, and consists of two major policies: deregulating the U.S. economy so that the richest can engage in more financial speculation, and coercing weaker countries to open up their economies for exploitation by foreigners.

Neoconservatism is another ideology that supports U.S. exceptionalism, or the belief that the U.S. is exceptional or special because it stands for freedom and democracy, and any country it considers an enemy is evil and but be controlled or destroyed. Examples include Reagan's "evil empire" and Bush's "axis of evil," not to mention the Carter and Reagan doctrines as well as Obama's "pivot" to Asia.

The problem with neoliberalism is that it leads to instability and economic crashes due to financial speculation, which is what happened in 2008. It also makes countries that are weakened by U.S. coercion move away slowly from the U.S., which is what's been happening to BRICS and over forty countries that have become stronger economically.

The problem with neoconservatism is that it leads to a lot of suffering and death in other countries, and at the same time shows that the U.S. is run by hypocrites as it is revealed that they also fund their "enemies," such as arming both Israel and Saudi Arabia, funding both Saddam and the Shah of Iran, combatting terrorism that it helped promote, and trading happily with "enemies" like China.

Very likely most U.S. citizens are not aware of all of these points because both the news and entertainment (owned by the same rich that earn from neonconservatism and neoliberalism) have across many decades conditioned them to see the U.S. as exceptional and themselves as entitled. At best, they can only imagine that they belong to the "left" or to the "right" and debate on domestic issues involving abortion and gender, but are all dependent on the same consumer spending economy mostly controlled by the rich, which also funds both the Democrats and Republicans who have been promoting both ideologies since the Reagan administration. In any event, even if they thought they could do something about this, they wouldn't as they're too busy earning money, taking care of their families, etc.

Finally, the same applies to the global economy, which like the U.S. economy is essentially controlled by only a few corporations:

with money trickling down to the global population which wants to earn and spend more:
