They need them. They were dominated by Chinese “B” Team AC. Those Chinese fighters were sub-standard (garbage) in the 90-2000’s, okay by 2010, and an F35 analog by 2025 (for which they have the plans and stealth materials and coatings from the tailbone of the MH60 planted in the Bin Laden raid)

It deserves to be mentioned that the Paki’s hit and destroyed an Indian Air force Jet at ~182 kilometers! The longest air to air kill in history. Pakistan also down Five total India AC to zero or one. India’s brand new French AC were a huge disappointment (and a letdown for at least 5 aviators)

Absolutely. I would like to contest the "5 aircraft shot down" though, I believe the losses were:
1 Rafale
1 Su-30MKI
1 MiG-29
Pakistan used a PLAAF-developed radar-guided BVR air-to-air missile to shoot down our Rafale, the PL-15E. Needless to say I think the Indian Air Force needs to study this poor performance and improve in the future, for which I think having our own in-house twin-engine stealth air-superiority fighter is a necessity. The new aircraft is going to play the same role as the F-22 Raptor in the USAF, I believe. Hope they're able to get this program fast-tracked given China will deliver to Pakistan their J-35A 5th-Gen stealth fighter aircraft by August this year, which will put the Pakistani air force in the lead.
 
Civil defence drills are set to begin again from Thursday, in four states bordering Pakistan - Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab as well as Jammu and Kashmir. The Haryana state government is also set to conduct a major state-wide civil defence exercise named “Operation Shield,” on May 29, across all 22 districts from 5 pm onwards to enhance the state’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

Rhetoric on the Indian side is building up for more military action. I must emphasize though, that these accounts have no concrete information and this is just rhetoric and speculation.
