Again, this is just more evidence to show that the Chinese are attempting to project power through aggression. However, this is all from a sign of weakness, not strength. As long as the rest of the world stands firm- the Chinese Communist Party's days are done.

Kinda hard with all the spineless leadership out there across the globe, with no clear leader to lead the world. It's all self interest politics, not what is best through cooperation and what can be achieved through corporation.

Where do you see anyone standing up to China?

The only front I could possibly see the world beginning to build a consensus is economically. Diversifying supply chains and possibly sanctioning the PRC. That will likely draw us further into the current Cold War, but that makes the most sense diplomatically. Anything else risks a kinetic response.

The outcome of the Huwali 5G system will tell a lot. 5G is a huge cash cow with significant security implications for decades. If foreign gov go along with it then it tells us a lot.
Even with Brexit and Boris as PM Britain is one of the most risk adverse European countries regarding China. China is heavily intertwined in the “London’s” markets and banking system.
London is in a way a separate entity from Britain both legally and economically.
How China treats Australia in their trade spat and British response will also tell us a lot as well. If Britain doesn’t back Australia then they can be written off in standing up to China.

This thread shows the latest situation of Indian and Chinese forces in Ladakh since tensions errupted in the region last week over road construction about 5km from the LAC, using satellite imagery from Yesterday (May 22nd). The 2nd image shows the extent of the road construction. https://t.co/ULjsKVBl0P

In response to the construction which is likely designed to supply the final Indian Army encampment before the LAC, China has set up several positions of varying size, including one with half-a-dozen tents right on (potentially beyond) the LAC, 500m from the Indian position. https://t.co/jm7EMnpyAX

Other newly* set up positions along the Galwan river on the Chinese side of the LAC look like this, mostly durable tents, vehicles and some structures. There are not any heavy weaponry or vehicles out in the open*. Together there are about 80 tents set up.

*as best I can tell https://t.co/Qdg4WX4IyK

These appear new, as lower-resolution satellite imagery from April (via Planet) does not appear to show the largest encampment (#2 in the above tweet), but the resolution makes it hard to be sure. https://t.co/gNtEWpz0fK

The frontline Indian positions have also expanded significant in May, now containing roughly 60 tents, shared between the two positions closest to the LAC. https://t.co/dvkkwUAlkG
There also does appear to be limited grading and road construction happening closer to these positions within roughly 1.5km of the LAC (34.7654433, 78.1954017). https://t.co/EStyt0YOvo
Finally, there are very considerable and large Indian positions along the Shyok floodplain near the DSDBO road. Some of these positions are permanent. Dark pins are new since May. Again, no obvious heavy weaponry or vehicles*

*one possible artillery, i think it's something else https://t.co/L3DQHOCkoo

UPDATE: China has invaded a part of India along its disputed border. 5,000 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers have crossed into the area, dug in, and are building fortifications.

this is only gonna escalate if china begins occupying large amounts of disputed territory on the indian side of the LAC

Next: China will begin boarder incursion into Vietnam.
Erratic is the word that comes to mind with China’s current behavior.
Naval ship confrontation following soon. That or stopping commercial shipping for inspections in the SCS.

Y'know, for the last couple of years I've felt that CCP China was going down a similar path that Nazi Germany did just prior to WWII (I apologize for breaking Godwin's law).

Claiming territories around them belong to them based on people having similar ethnicity/speaking the same language. Gradually pushing the envelope more and more with what they can get away with before the international community reacts. Stomping down on all dissent within it's borders with an iron boot. Hell, they even got the "put religious minority in camps and lie about what they're doing to them" part down.

Maybe we are seeing the beginnings of China's "bliztkreig all nearby territories and rapidly capture them to the shock of everyone" phase?

China to evacuate citizens from India amid pandemic, rising border tension
Beijing has asked its citizens willing to return to China to register by the morning of May 27.

China is planning to evacuate its citizens from India amid the spreading Covid-19 pandemic in the country, a notice issued by the Chinese embassy in New Delhi said on Monday.

The notice, published on the embassy website said that students, tourists and businessmen who have been stranded in India will be allowed to fly back to China on special flights.

The number of Chinese citizens currently studying or staying and working in India wasn’t immediately available.

Beijing has asked its citizens willing to return to China to register by the morning of May 27.

It includes Chinese citizens who are in India to practice yoga or had come to India for the Buddhist religious circuit pilgrimage.

It did not specify when or from where the special flights would take off.

The evacuation notice also comes in the backdrop of rising tension between India and China along the disputed boundary between the two countries.

The notice put out in Mandarin on Monday morning said those taking the flights will have to pay for the tickets and for their 14-day quarantine once they land in China.

“Under the unified arrangement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant departments, the Chinese embassy and Consulates in India will assist students, tourists, and temporary businessmen in India who have difficulties and are in urgent need of returning home to take temporary flights back to China,” the notice said.

The notice expressly forbade those who have been diagnosed with or suspected to have Covid-19 or those who had fever and cough symptoms for 14 days not to take the flights.

Close contacts of Covid-19 patients or whose body temperature exceeds 37.3 degrees centigrade will also not be allowed to board.

The applicants have been warned to not hide their medical history.

“Once a passenger who conceals his illness and contact history or finds that he has taken antipyretics and other inhibitory drugs during quarantine inspection is found, he will be held liable for the crime of endangering public safety,” the notice said.

India was among the countries to evacuate more than 700 citizens and foreign nationals from the central Chinese province of Hubei, worst-hit by the Covid-19 outbreak, and its capital, Wuhan, where the coronavirus emerged late last year in February.

The second batch of evacuation in late February had been delayed after the Chinese authorities are said to have delayed the required clearances.
