Do we believe their assessment? The Soviets claimed everything at Chernobyl was just hunky dory.
I feel like Iran would jump on the opportunity if there was a radiation release or even the risk of one. They would use that to their advantage to make Israel or the United States look bad on world stage for causing or attempting to cause a quote "radiological disaster." Or even use such a event to gain support and erode further support for US/Israel.Do we believe their assessment? The Soviets claimed everything at Chernobyl was just hunky dory.
I think this is why by in large we have left their NPP's alone. For these very reasons. The Russia/Ukraine war taught us that lesson of narrative shaping around such sensitive (most feared) facilities on earth. Even if the risk is minimal the moment anyone hears the words 'nuclear power plant attacked' irrational fears typically take over in the public mindset and then easy to manipulate that fear into eroding support for war. They would use that to their advantage to make Israel or the United States look bad on world stage for causing or attempting to cause a quote "radiological disaster."
