Before posting this link, I tried to look around and didn't find anything much--so I'm asking in general. Has anyone heard about this happening in the next day or so????? Here's the link

There's so much crap out there, you have to do like a horse and eat the hay and spit out the sticks. I don't know if that one is hay or sticks. LOL

There are some outlier sites talking about it. Here is an article from Daily Mail. I know some people dismiss that site, but they do actually post some interesting tidbits that are passed over by the mainstream.

Yeah, I've been seeing some chatter about it as well. My take on it is it's one of those "MASSIVE ASTEROID HEADING FOR EARTH!" clickbait headlines and then when you read the article, the last line says "The asteroid will pass the Earth at a distance of 2 million miles."

It will probably burn up in the atmosphere, and even if it doesn't, there's only a 30% chance it will hit land, and an even lower chance of hitting a populated area.

It’s a twap!!! It has 20 Mirvs inside and will strike targets in the US or Europe on its way back. Just kidding but it’s possible given the recent atmosphere.

I have always liked how you brighten every thread with the best-case scenario you can possibly imagine. 🤣

Everyday old satellites and very large pieces of rockets from old launches always are making a uncontrolled re-entry into earth atmosphere. Only time they get any media attention is when its Russian, Chinese, or the news is slow. This is the very very last thing I would be worrying about today,... this is a normal common occurrence of old or new space junk falling back to earth.

Is that actually true? Every day? I know we're always being pelted by space rocks, but I didn't think satellites and man-made stuff was so frequent.

That is just the cataloged objects big enough worthy of noting everyday falling to earth!

Many more dozens if not hundreds of smaller objects ranging from the size of a big window to a small screw are constantly everyday making re entry.

Which could pose threats to airliners in the future if space debris is geting more dense/larger falling through earth's atmosphere more and more offten. If we really want to be worried about space debris I'd worry about flying in the future.
