Trump announced in a post on Truth Social that he has ordered the military to launch “decisive and powerful Military action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen.” Adding that strikes are being carried out now on Houthi bases, leaders, and missile defenses to protect American shipping, air, and naval assets, and to restore Freedom of Navigation in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The U.S. Air Force and Navy today began a large-scale strike campaign against the Houthi terrorist group in Western Yemen, launching strikes ordered by U.S. President Trump against dozens of targets ranging from air-defense and surface radars, air defense systems, missile and drone systems, as well as underground munition storage sites.

According to Senior U.S. Officials, tonight’s strikes were launched by F/A-18 “Super Hornets” from the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) in the Northern Red Sea, as well as Air Force strike aircraft and drones launched from bases across the Middle East; with this only being the start of the operation, as air and naval strikes are expected to continue for several days, intensifying in scope and scale depending on the reaction and response by the Houthis.

The operation is also meant as a warning to Iran, as President Trump attempts to get Iran to sign a deal limiting its nuclear and long-range missiles program, while preventing them from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The Houthis have just released a statement, claiming for the second time today to have launched a missile and drone attack targeting the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) and its Carrier Strike Group in the Northern Red Sea, which they further claim “successfully thwarted” an attack by the U.S. Navy against Yemen. As usual there is no evidence of these claims, and they are considered to be mostly if not totally false.

"We warn our enemies that Iran will respond decisively and destructively if they carry out their threats," Gen. Hossein Salami, the leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, told state media following U.S. strikes over the weekend against the Tehran-backed terrorist group, according to Reuters.

"We are not a nation to live in hiding. We are a valid and legitimate system in the world. We announce it if we attack anywhere," Salami was quoted as saying by ABC News.
