There is a documentary on Netflix about Boeing's transformation from a culture of safety to a culture focused on profit, along with the problems with the 737 MAX jet. It's called Downfall: The Case Against Boeing, and I recommend it. Boeing's culture shift seemed to start following the merger with McDonnel Douglas.
