Lebanon attempts to dismantle Hezbollah - Iran sets a red line.

Colonel (Res.) Dr. Jacques Neria, a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign Affairs and Security, reveals that the Lebanese government has taken a dramatic decision to dismantle Hezbollah and its weapons by the end of the year. According to him, there are actions on the ground, including preparations by the Lebanese army against weapons depots east of Tyre and violent clashes in the Bekaa, but significant Iranian involvement is disrupting the process. Iran's foreign minister and Khamenei's advisor have already made it clear to the Lebanese government that this "will not happen," and the army is preparing to defend the northern perimeter of Beirut for fear of escalation.

Neria emphasized that Hezbollah faces three options: integrate into the political system and become a party, prepare for a fight for its status while retaining its weapons, or divert fire toward Israel. "I really hope Hezbollah receives the blows it deserves," he said, "because that's the only way it will understand that it must change course."
