This is the natural course of civil or guerrilla wars. It’s dirty ugly brutal and long.
I would much prefer we be attacked with nukes than go thru what a guerrilla war would bring in America.

Yes, absolutely. I fully agree.

Pays to remember the Civil War was by far the bloodiest conflict in American history, with the total number of American casualties exceeding the Independence War, WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq combined. And all those guys had were muzzle-loaded rifles and wildly inaccurate six-pounders.

Now imagine the same conflict, but on a much grander scale, with automatic weapons, modern artillery and nukes. However bad you think it'll be, it's actually going to be worse.

The sane argument would then go roughly along the lines of "let's not have another civil war", but I doubt that's what's on the mind of those far-right militias. Plus, while they claim to be arming themselves against some imaginary foreign enemy - it is, in fact, their fellow Americans they intend to shoot. Guess I'll be excused for distrusting their motives and generally regarding them as a bunch of evil f***s.

No most people on the right, by and large know how ugly and far from guaranteed.
That’s the thing about how wars start. There comes a point where either both sides convince themselves is a win. Or one side is so pressed against the wall there is no other course. That’s a pretty hard wall.
That said if one side is so “righteous” in their might and ambition that they continue to press the opposition tell they see no other choice.
