Yawn. This has been talked about since last year July. If it was gonna be a problem it would have already:

Monkey pox has been around for a long time. It's nothing to really worry about--not lethal, just swollen glands, fever, until it breaks out which looks similar to smallpox on the skin. Transmission is by direct contact, most by bodily fluids. I guess someone somewhere got either bitten by a monkey or handled their waste, and in some countries, maybe had eaten an infected monkey. Don't be caught up in the fear factor.

Monkeypox needs some time to fully adapt to humans, every virus is different and some act slower but it has the potential to become another pandemic.
The numbers of cases are rising and you should worry about it when you already know that small pox and monkey pox can disfigures people for life.
You can play down Omicron, it's mild and some people die. But when your face looks a like a sprinkled cake then you know it's not just the flu!

@DarkNoon I only write that much when you make me discuss here but my only concern is that no false sense of security is spread here and that it has no effect at all.

Nobody will say: "Hey I just got Alpha, Delta and Omicron Monkeypox and nothing happened. "
Monkeypox is not just another Corona Virus the disease will leave its mark ,especially on the face.
But the spreading has just begun, there are new cases in Spain, Portugal, UK and soon in other countries.
How it's spreading so fast is yet unknown, my guess is that it has evolved to spread through airborne droplets just like the chicken pox.
That's just my theory for now, but if it's spreaded through a cough - in an airplane for example, a new pandemic has just begun!

Monkeypox isn't as lethal as small pox (30%) but it's at 10%, that's 5% more than the original Corona virus.

How a face looks like after small pox

There's a suspected case of monkey pox in NYC now, too! Preliminary tests are being done and the patient is in isolation at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. No information has been released about the patient, but they're trying to do contact tracing.

Doesn’t even have an assigned r-factor, small pox vaccines are effective against it, their is proven antiviral med for it.
Most listed cases in northern hemisphere are directly related to travel to central Africa.

These recent cases are apparently NOT travel-linked, which is VERY unusual. Nor are the ones in the different cities linked to each other. It's very strange. Smallpox vaccine will work for monkey pos but it's not available to the general public.

22 of 23 in Spain linked to recent sexual contact it’s not unusual in cases of bodily fluid contact.
Point is nothing points to high infection rate or possible respiratory spread. Most vaccines aren’t “available” to general public. Yet it is still available as is a proven antiviral.

Is it an Issue, sure. Is it an pandemic no

Just a question? How long does immunity from smallpox vaccination last?. Did have a vaccination about 55 years ago.

3-5yr booster available I’m sure if this continues to grow and be fanned there will be ample vac and boosters available to sell.
If not we’ll just lockdown again.
Or we could cull the herd.
What ever it takes to keep fear alive

In 2003 there were 47 cases in the US.
Does not spread anything like Covid small pox vaccine works, anti virals work. Britain is already distributing vaccine to those who might have come into contact.
Most common means of spread seems to be through sexual contact.
The other common cause of cases in northern hemisphere is from imported pets from Africa
It’s real but until someone produces some hard evidence that it’s transmission vectors have changed, it manageable.

We do not know that is what is happening in this current outbreak. We don't know what this strain is about.
We can use our free human minds to continue to assess the information.
Not simply ignore other facts and only listen to the political/corporate elite media "experts" - who are NEVER held accountable when they are wrong.
Strongly recommend not to make assumptions one way or the other.
Watching the endless stories in January 2020, by "experts" convinced that COVID19 was transmitted via food, and that there was no way there was human-human transmission (while ironically once again world debate was on Ukraine issues), should have taught us to watch the evidence and have open minds, not believe the first thing that "the experts" tell us, until we know all of the facts.
The jokesters and dismissers of today are eeriely familiar.

Security assessment does not need to start with "Yawn."
We do not know if this is the same strain of a year ago., which most of us also knew about.
We can get the facts first and know more about this.
The rapid spread of this reported now in 11 countries would suggest more than a STI.
But let's get the facts first. Getting the facts are not panicking. Dismissing the facts is not security.
