Naval forces from China & Russia for the 1st time conduct joint patrols in the Western part of the Pacific Ocean

"Combat ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy from 17 to 23 October conducted joint patrols in the western part of the Pacific Ocean for the first time. This was reported on Saturday by the RF Ministry of Defense."

"The tasks of the patrol were to demonstrate the state flags of Russia and China, maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as protect the objects of maritime economic activity of the two countries. As part of the patrol, the group of ships passed through the Sangar Strait for the first time," the statement says.

"The ministry noted that as part of a joint detachment of 10 ships, the Russian Federation was represented by the forces of the Pacific Fleet."
