TBS, diplomatic sources quotes

(CNN) - North Korea reportedly told China it would conduct a nuclear test last month, but China has warned it to block the border and has suspended its plan, a Japanese diplomatic source quoted a Japanese private broadcaster as saying.

According to the TBS report on April 14, North Korea informed China that it would conduct a nuclear test two days later on the 18th of last month. At the time, Pyongyang had promised that it could run anytime after its sixth nuclear test.

China has warned that if North Korea conducts a nuclear test, it will block both land and sea borders. It means to stop all logistics from China to North Korea such as food and living materials.

The Chinese government also ordered the police in northeast China, the border area of North Korea, to work at night to prepare for the shaking and the damage caused by the nuclear test.

In the end, North Korea did not carry out a nuclear test on 20 that said it would conduct a nuclear test. TBS analyzed that China's border blockade, which accounts for 90 percent of the trade, was a life-threatening problem in North Korea, and that it abandoned its nuclear test plan after receiving a warning from China
TBS reported that China sent North Korea's nuclear test plan to the United States, and the United States again informed it that Japan had strengthened its alertness on the 20th.

TBS 's report seems convincing when you look at the announcements of the US and China

NK apparently wanted to test nukes on 4/20 & notified China on 4/18. China threatened to shut down land/sea borders.

This may have convinced NK not to test on 4/20. Xi reported this to Trump, who then relayed it to Abe. Both considered emergency measures.
In other words, China kept deploying troops near its NK border to "shut down the border" should NK followed through. Japan was "alarmist"
Japan's TBS reports Trump's press conference where he said Xi's doing something special referred to these measures taken by China.
Ultimately NK didn't follow through, convinced by China's threat to shut down the border. So China's troops may have been deployed not to stop refugees but to enforce the border shutdown, if NK followed through with its intent to test nukes on 4/20. In Trump's eyes, Xi deserved credit for "blocking" NK's nuke test. The same reason why Japan kept raised "alarmist rhetoric" which seemed a bit over the top at the time

The same story now being circulated by Yonhap, which regards it as credible: Rex Tillerson said on 4/27 that China
https://t.co/rVhfTXcyed
urged NK not to test nukes & warned of blockade measures. The China-NK rift started with Xi's threats & continued later w NK's op-edfrom "Kim Chol" which blasted China for "dancing the tunes" of NK's enemies. This may have referred to Xi telling on NK to Trump and
from "Kim Chol" which blasted China for "dancing the tunes" of NK's enemies. This may have referred to Xi telling on NK to Trump and
then indirectly to Abe. Yonhap thinks this coulda been more drastic[than cutting off oil supply] as 90% of trade is through the China border.
The burning question is: did they bother to keep SK in the loop? Yes, Park's in the bighouse & Hwang's a placeholder. "Korea passing" again.

Good intel, well done

So you think China or Russia for that matter is going to stop their little paid pest after being loyal to them for over 50 years? Your all very Naive to think so. China said they blocked NK coal shipments by boat. That was only to fool Trump, they now have them brought into Russia via railway, go around a mountain range and right back into China to be unloaded. If we can see that via Google earth and Trump has not called them on it yet, either our Intel people are sleeping or Trumps son in law is keeping him quite, since Jarred has a Billion dollars invested in China with Soros of all people. He failed to admit that little fact before being allowed to be Trumps advisor as well. He is the founder of the company so its not like he just forgot. Trump needs to purge his family from the White House before they get him Impeached.

I think that's kind of beside the point. When DPRK decides to do nuke tests fallout undoubtedly spreads across east Asia.
Radiation knows no borders

What about groundwater contamination though, the rain probably washes that crap right into the water table.

I thought about that and looked up a couple of international research papers on testing.
Very little reported environmental pollutants from underground testing. Virtually everything reported was from previous atmospheric testing. "Non-reported" was the reoccurring phrase for underground test. This was not an exhaustive search though.

The real pollution to ground water of uranium comes from the mining process that uses well injection and removal to sift uranium out of bedrock without digging it up. I was always surprised the Indian nations protested the keystone so hard while they have the current and ongoing problem of groundwater contamination from uranium mining that goes on unabated.
Although it was just one tribe protesting because they didn't like the kickbacks they were offered to allow it to go through so they were just holding out for more money.
The protesters left 82 truck loads of trash on sight when they lost interest and went home. They demonstrated so well how they love the environment and biosphere. As long as it doesn't entail them picking up after themselves.
I am ranting and digress my apologies.
