According to a statement issued by the Defence Ministry on Monday, the exercise is “conducted in line with plans to check the operational and mobilisation readiness in the Armed Forces in 2015, and stems from the [army’s] need to accumulate well-trained reserve troops.”

The authorities, however, affirm the drills are not to be linked with the enduring tension between NATO and Russia.

Yeah, nothing going on at all, nothing to look at... We're just going to call in 12,000 reservists in during 2015, just to make sure the system works okay.
Yeah, right!

Yeah, right!

Didn't Poland do this just before WWII?
Is history repeating itself?

Were I in Poland's shoes, given what they have leaned of the value of treaties, and agreements, I would do the same.

And more maybe, 12 000 people are not nearly enough if it comes to something. But if they raised more men, it would be even more suspicious.

Yes, 12,000 men are not enough, but you might want to consider that that amount of men could be used to perform a delaying action while you mobilize the rest of your men, and provide enough time for NATO to act. Poland is not, and may never be, a military superpower, however its connections to NATO put it into such a position, at least to an extent.

yea, Poland mobilized and about a week or 2 later Hitler invaded, lets give it a week or 2 and see what happens.

Putin is one Poland away from a Hitler. This time tho we have NATO and other mutual assurances that would back Putin off. I know he's starting on this path of madness but he's not crazy, he's just making a push for his legacy and seeing what he can get away with.

Sounds Exactly like Hitler, Putins going to push past the line sooner or later.

Russia is not gonna start a war they know they won't win. If they wanted to start sht with the U.S. they would do it by now.
