Phillipines at first and then the capital of Taiwan and it's capital Taipei.
My geography is terrible.
Btw I hope this was ironic.

My guess: Heavy infrastructural damages and hazardous conditions in Taiwan, and after that the hurrican will intensify again and hit South Korea or Japan, as we can see in this map already.

It just now occurred to me that a direct landfall on Taiwan by a CAT 5 storm might result in enough damage to allow China to invade almost unopposed immediately after the storm passes.

Highly unlikely, but still.... it gave me pause...

I expected a message like that somewhat earlier. @RiffRaff
But, the Hurricane isn't going away after it has mangled Taiwan it sure has enough power to demolish the coast of Shanghai or at least make an imminent invasion impossible.
A 180mph fast hurricane is like a huge F3 tornado.
Severe damage. Roofs and some walls torn off well-constructed houses; trains overturned; most trees in forest uprooted; heavy cars lifted off the ground and thrown.
And most aircraft on the ground could be damaged. It could take years to rebuild Taiwan.

Super Typhoon Chanthu has missed Taiwan by only justs but is now headed towards Shanghai.
