Putin’s Russia Is Closing In On A Devastating Victory. Europe’s Foundations Are Trembling

Grim assessment. Seems reasonable. A bit alarmist though. Everyone knew the UA took the Leopards and Bradley’s from the west straight in to battle Russian style, when they were supposed to use western Air Land Battle tactics. The problem is the UA’s senior officers are trained and think in Soviet Era tactics. It was heart breaking to see the Brads thrown straight at the enemy, again and again. They gave up their Range advantage and their maneuver advantage to charge heavily fortified lines in light and medium armor. And they did it again and again. No shortage of bravery from the UA troops and company grade officers. It not that the General staff of UA is incompetent,, they are not, but they are inflexible and have shown they cannot operate outside the doctrine they learned and taught for 30 years. The UA need to get some Junior Colonels that were on the line a s Captains and Jump them two grades and put them in charge. Even better, try listening to your western advisors on how to use their equipment….oh lord this turned into a mindless rant…sorry. 😞

No it wasn’t so much, to be fair the destruction of the dam and subsequent flooding I think threw a real monkey wrench in to plans.
That and I suspect there is still a parochial protection of particular military leaders areas. I suspect it what has resulted in some of the turn over in military leadership.
Lincoln faced this same problem during the first few years of the civil war. Leaders and some states wouldn’t send or commit their forces to fights they didn’t value.

I don’t know how this will end. I know how it could have ended but because of some leaders and nations in nato willing to do what was necessary to force that end. Then here we are.
