Russia military zapad21 drills

The Bear bomber is not going to break though any air defense itself. It carry's very powerful cruise missiles that it will shoot from a thousand miles away or more.

Obama was in charge when the Russians invaded Crimea! He is back in the white house again and they both have a lot of interest that Ukraine stay free of Russia.

I think Putin would love to find an excuse to attack Ukraine while India's troops and others are there because he might use them as cover politically. Putin knows its suicide to attack Poland or the Baltics.

I think the west better wake up and come to grips with the fact that Russia has more than likely violated EVERY nuclear weapons treaty by now. We need crash programs to get our land based nuke forces renewed with mobile launchers and they need to get on with building those bomber dropped stealth TLAMS.
Obama is not back in the White House. Knock that crap off.

Sure he is. Biden is carrying Obama's legacy. So it is appropriate to say that...for all intent and purpose...Obama now has his third term.
It’s all the same even the Bushes, their all part of the same club. Ask yourself who actually did things different and who fought them tooth and nail the whole time.
But everyone’s an independent right.
Truly independent politicians are castigated as fringe, and unrealistic.
why vote it means very little anymore except to stir up campaign donations. Which latter will only be used to create contract jobs for family members

It is not. That's like saying Reagan had his third term when Bush won the White House. Or Bush Junior. Biden is carrying on the Democrat agenda, not Obama's legacy. People use that as a derogatory phrase against Biden because they hate both him and Obama equally.

Not to mention, political commentary needs to stay out of the Breaking News forums. This is why we have a forum dedicated specifically to politics. And it's why I by and large stay the hell out of it.

Interesting analysis. The points re: peacetime positioning of assets and operational surprise are intriguing and seemingly don't play well together at all times. But, the longer you get used to a particular configuration, the less threatening it seems, even if the underlying reality never changes.

Lukashenko says foreign troops deployed in Poland on Belarusian border

"It is clear that wherever you deploy troops in Poland it won’t be against Germany.
Meanwhile, it is foreign troops, primarily US ones," he said on Monday as quoted by BelTA news agency.
"We see Lithuania getting into every crack to prove their loyalty to NATO and the US. But the saddest thing is Ukraine. We have a new front opening."

Kremlin says NATO expansion in Ukraine is a 'red line' for Putin

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba rejected the notion of a Russian "red line" outside of Russia's own borders, and said Kyiv had its own security to think about.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, a close Moscow ally, accused the United States of setting up training centres in Ukraine which he said amounted to military bases.
He said he had discussed the issue with Putin.
"It's clear we need to react to this...(We) agreed that we need to take some kind of measures in response," Lukashenko was quoted as saying by the RIA news agency.

Poland will seek an extension of the state of emergency in force along its border with Belarus as authorities in Warsaw accused Belarus of provocative actions and alleged that some migrants detained on the border have ties to terrorist groups.
Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski told reporters Monday that Poland has recorded 9,400 attempts to illegally cross the Polish border from Belarus since August, with 8,200 of them being foiled. He said about 1,200 people are being held in detention centers after being caught attempting to illegally enter Poland.
