“We hope that reason will prevail and the situation in Europe will be prevented from sliding into a new military confrontation which may have dangerous consequences,” the Foreign Ministry said in the statement.

Yes, I do believe so. That's why I asked wouldn't this provoke an even greater respense by Russia now that they can say, see the Americans sare seriously violating treaties and are threatening Russia. This will Be highly propagandized to their military leaders and civilians to drum up support that something serious must now be done.
The thing is, this 'spearhead' was sold to NATO countries, Congress, and the Americans paying attention as some little small pre positioning with a very few troops and only in a couple countries.it's obviously much larger and aggressive than being reported.
A Bulgarian named YARS24 posted evidence out of Bulgaria. (he PMd me some stuff that I will highlight on, but not break any confidences.) We've seen Hugary. In other words, this 'spearhead' was a cover. It cracked the door open and NATO even is now going to places like Macedonia, Maldova, any where the SouthStream or, now, the Turkish Stream pipelines are being proposed to block Russian exports even more. Ukraine even passed a law preventing transit rights to Russia to resupply their troops in Maldova. This is a huge story over there, as even during the height of the civil war, this was allowed.
NATO once said it must be careful not to make Russia perceive us as being aggressive. Well that's out the window. YARS told me over 200 armored vehicles and many NATO troops are positioning in Bulgaria (and he had pics and a link). He also said they had no vote to join NATO or EU.
There have been mounting protest every Sunday there since March, but the elected officials will not even address the issue. Bulgarians were setting themselves on fire because they couldn't afford electricity. That's hoow grave the situation is amongst the citizenry. I imagine the same stories are in other places NATO has interrupted energy to these very poor countries
This is happening in these countries that we are being told want NATO, but The citizens have no choice, and this alarms me, this is borderline fascist... I don't support NATO expanding unless the people of those countries want it period. That's how democracy works. But NATO and these countries are doing this all by fiat, no election, no referendum, no recall SNAP elections..NATO is just doing it..
Point is, the news we get here make it look like all these coutries are crying save me, but the citizens are scared more that NATO makes them a target. I don't know what to make of this. Germany has been a semi voice of reason, but then they roll tanks into Poland for crying out loud.
The history of that alone sends an ominous message to the Russian military and civilians. Either way. Russia has tried the hard approach. It starts really making me nervous when they are now urging (begging) not 'condemning and threatening'. That means they are at the end of their patience to me.
Nukes in Kaligrad (Kaligrad is in the European continient part of Russia-see the treaty violation narrative being pushed over this?) will be used by the officials to do whip up fear and calls for nukes in Europe will be sold to Eastern NATO military and civilians. And those countries are not like France, Germany and the UK. These are fledgling democracies, after decades of communism.
The mindset will be that the people will get no vote, nor will the corrupt politicians care about anything but NATO bribes, threats of cutting off money, and threats of color revolutions or destabilization. Very, very dangerous.
They will say the same tune:
'let us set up a "spearhead" to protect you from big, bad Russia; See. Russia now is a serious threat, we must respond even more forcefully militarily and with sanctions.'
I really, really don't like the way this is going. I've noticed NATO had some propaganda victories that emboldened them, then all the sudden a change. They said, we're in the lead, let's drive the dagger home quickly and aggressively now. Maybe that will show Russia we mean business.
All this is severely escalating this very quickly, and makes Russia feel cornered. I would too. But Russia (as does NATO) knows they cannot win conventionally against NATO, with so many coutries against them. Russia has stated this and is part of their military doctrine-thus the 'modernization' program to try and close this gap militarily. Therefore it makes them more dangerous.
I lived through the Cold War, and know that the Soviets were ruthless. But both sides went out of there way 99.9% of the time to avoid even the perception of something like this. So this really is serious.
