Russian Army Chief Travels to Laos, Meets Lao Defense Minister, Discusses Cooperation

"Colonel General Oleg Salyukov, Chief of the Russian Land Forces, paid a working visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic on March 12-14. Colonel General Oleg Salyukov had a meeting with the Minister of Defence of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Colonel General Chansamone Chanyalath and Chief of the Lao General Staff Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi. Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Land Forces also held negotiations with Deputy Chief of the Lao General Staff Major General Pasit Thiengtham. In course of the visit, the parties discussed prospects of development of Land Forces of two countries, education of officers of Laos in the Russian military educational establishments as well as participation of the Laotian servicemen in the International Army Games 2017."
