FAKE NEWS ALERT: Some tabloids and twitter of course, are reporting about a russian warship, "attacking" a german helicopter with flares.

1. You don't "attack" something using flares.
2. The source did not mention if the ship was a warship.

An incident occurred between a Bundeswehr helicopter and a Russian ship in the Baltic Sea. The crew of the Russian ship fired with signal ammunition, the dpa news agency learned in Brussels. The helicopter was on its way to carry out reconnaissance.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) had previously briefly mentioned the incident on the sidelines of a NATO meeting in Brussels. However, she did not give any details. It is not yet known when this incident occurred.

The use of signal ammunition is actually only common in emergency situations. Baerbock had pointed out that there are always ships in the Baltic Sea that are involved in evading sanctions due to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

Russian terrorism in the baltics continues:
Less than two weeks after Russian sabotage is suspected in the downing of a DHL cargo jet in Lithuania, Russians continue their attempts to push Europe to engage with another act of terror, this time over the Baltic Sea.

This afternoon, a Russian warship fired at a German military helicopter conducting a reconnaissance mission over the Baltic Sea. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock confirmed the incident, highlighting the increasing proximity of NATO and Russian forces in the region.
Minister Baerbock addressed the situation during a NATO meeting in Brussels, emphasizing the need for enhanced monitoring and protection of critical infrastructure in the Baltic Sea. She noted that Russia is expanding its hybrid attacks in the area, citing recent sabotage activities, including damage to undersea cables.

This incident follows a series of aggressive actions by Russia in the region. Recently, Russian military forces conducted exercises in the Mediterranean, launching hypersonic Zircon missiles and Kalibr cruise missiles from naval vessels and submarines. These maneuvers are viewed as a direct show of strength to the West amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

The Baltic Sea has become a focal point for such tensions, with increased patrols and surveillance by NATO forces in response to increased acts of terror and sabotage from Russia. The firing on a German helicopter underscores the delicate nature of military engagements in the area and the potential for miscalculations that could lead to broader conflicts.

Russian warship 'fires at' German helicopter: NATO reconnaissance aircraft incident over Baltic Sea sparks new conflict escalation fears:

Still garbage sources. Waiting for somthing better to clarify.

Someone already beat me to clarify this. So must be a slow news day and garbage media outlets need to pedle fear today. Nothing burger.

👇CLARIFICATION👇
It was not a warship but a civilian ship by my understanding. The original in German does only mention ship and not warship.
The "reconnaissance aircraft" was a helicopter.
And it signalling ammunition was used.

And it happened a month ago.

Someone already beat me to clarify this. So must be a slow news day and garbage media outlets need to pedle fear today. Nothing burger.
Media just lacking of material today...
This is a nothing burger...if something serious had happened we would have known give that it happened during a NATO meeting in BXL.

Plus German's FM office could not confirm the story.

Another thing that is not directly related to this story, but that was mentioned by garbage media, regards the Lithuanian crash.

DHL plane crash in Lithuania likely due to technical issue, not sabotage, minister says
"With all we have and all we know, there are no signs that it could have been an act of sabotage," Lithuanian Defence Minister Laurynas Kasciunas told reporters on Wednesday.
A visual analysis of the crash showed there was no external impact on the plane as it landed, while surviving crew members said there had been no chaos or concern inside the aircraft preceding the crash, and no smoke or smell, the minister said.
"If we get additional data we might change our direction, but we don't have it at the moment," Vitkauskas told reporters.
