Too small and too many. The cost of 'shooting' one to pieces would be significantly more than the per item cost after putting them up there. Btw, the article talks about the ever increasing number of satellites being launched, for example here is a list of all satellites launched in February and up to 24 March this year.

I acknowledge that we might be reaching a point where there might be to much congestion in space. But I’ve seen know solid facts that this is indeed a problem. I haven’t seen any reports of satellites being damaged by collisions. It only seems to be prognostication it’s a problem.

^ A bit late getting started but at least it is a start. I'm hoping that TPTB can persuade the owners of all the UFOs the US military are witnessing to lend a hand, with their tech it should be a breeze.
