I said a while ago, if I could change one historical event that might make today's world safer, it would be the result of the 1992 US election.

2nd GHWB term, no NATO expansion and possibly (under a James Baker or someone in 99), no NATO bombing of Serbia. Those two events are behind a lot of what we see today.

Mr Cohen has a lot right, though he perhaps gives rather too much credit to Putin as a benevolent figure.
