Of course....trying to read hard Chinese data vis a vis Covid is like trying to make sense of the goat entrails after the obeah woman slit its stomach with her knife and let it run down the road till dead..... but from what I am hearing in a number of places this latest Chinese covid lockdown isnt accompanied by many deaths at all.....so one's gotta wonder if this isnt a set piece of economic warfare strategy by the CCP. Note in the post the number of vessels waiting to enter Shanghai......

Seemingly inexplicable food distribution fires and poor energy production policies and the war are not some how related.

I won't go there, but you're exactly right. Although my opinions would be considered a conspiracy theory by some, I know I'm right.

For damn sure their population has been shall we say pre conditioned for this. Maybe something like this in the West not so much but my impression is all someone's got to do is say the word..... everyone stays away from work and locks themselves in, no questions. so I think it can be argued that China is doing their part to bring an end to the hegemon.....I would somewhat like to know what a true debt/gdp ratio is for China at this point........far as conspiracy goes well maybe but also maybe this is current generation warfare not JUST being waged on the battlefield and in cyberspace. After all......at no other point in history has the world been so interdependent. At no other point in history has the (arguably) larges t power both militarily and economically had such a large portion of its both GDP and total productivity not in manufacturing but in the service sector as does the US. Seems to me from primarily economic standpoint that the hegemon already has their neck in the noose. Thats just me though.

I don’t know that I’m right. I do tend to gravitate towards the historic cycles theory that historic periods do tend to follow in cycles that chaos and disruption tends to follow periods of social apathy and lack or care or planning.
There are some theory’s that try to explain it but we’re talking about population level shift in mood.
Talk to people of any political or religious persuasion. Most will tell you something is wrong with society today. They might have very different views of what and why it’s broken. But the general consensus is something’s broken. Optimism is the exception.
Maybe it is a natural cycle of cultures and economies. Maybe there are attempts to shape and direct these cycles.
Most of here have no real power to shape policy or events. But there are people throughout the world that do have the ability to exercise this kind of power. Imagine if they understand history and cycles in this way and make decisions accordingly

I would agree with emphasis on the some. The fourth turning is a good short read. But anything out there in this is honestly just in the generalizations. No one cycle will ever be exact or definitive as to how it will play out in the future. You can’t say at the end of every fourth cycle there will be world wide destruction and Maj wars fought. But the probabilities are there.

This past generations impact on future generations is even been seen in human physiology. Scandinavians have excellent historic proximate cause of death records going back to the 19th century. Scientist had observed that a particular generation were prone to chronic obesity and ti could not all be explained by life style.
Research past trend in previous gen they did not see it. But what they did see was that the grandmothers of this overweight generation went through widespread periods of extreme famine.
They tied it to epigenetic impact. The grand mother’s generation when pregnant during the famine were not just carrying their children but their grandchildren’s embryos. The famine the posited was effecting the genetic material in their grandchildren’s embryos.
When a woman is in late term pregnancy they not only have their daughters onboard but a life time of genetic material for all of their potential grandchildren in the baby as well.
It’s a theory but it’s the circle of life baby hakuna matata.
